4ONE Day-42-15JUL11

Candles are so relaxing... no I am not gay... yes I like my room to smell nice... and yes candles are cool. Love the way that candles flicker - mesmerizing. Anywho... something I have been doing lately is lighting a candle before studying to make my room smell good... and I guess candles are symbols of hope... hope that I dont struggle through the next exam period!...

4ONE Day-41-14JUL11

So something that I have been getting into recently is typography. Just love the way letters and fonts look. I think it is also because I am making up for the fact that I have terrible hand-writing. So out and about today and came across this building with some lovely "oldschool" typography on it. If you are out in Adelaide, be sure to check out the overpass near the Jam factory, there is some awesome work done there by some local and interstate artists. "Sticks&Stones". again... awesome... go check it.

4ONE Day-40-13JUL11

First of all, I have not failed. I am still taking photos. Only in the past few days, I have had technical problem over technical problem... Day 40 my internet stopped working, Day 41 I was transferring data and had no USB ports available for downloading images... Day 42 same story and that now brings us to Day 43... I will still post these up individually though... sorry for the few people following me on my journey... I am sure there has been no lost sleep over my short disappearance.

So tracking back... what was I grateful for on Wednesday the 13th of July. Today, we had a seminar on how to manage life/work balance as a Dr. and I had attended this same seminar last year and remembered that there was really good food! that's not the reason I attended again though, I remember sitting through the seminar last year and listening to one particular speaker and being inspired by his albeit mundane journey. I think what captivated me was that although he was a very senior doctor, he still was very humble and respected not only his team but also his patients and those around him. This was the type of doctor I hoped to one day become. So today I took some sneaky shots of him talking to us, and wanted to share how grateful it is to have teachers and mentors such as Stephen Parnis. Thank you for taking time out in your busy life (being VP of the AMA and an ED physician at St. Vinnies is no easy job)

Also he got me interested in learning about history.

4ONE Day-39-12JUL11

Hot baked goods?... then you will be grateful that you have good oven mits. This is what I am grateful for today. I remember one year not having good mits and burning my hands. With these new mits that Angie got me... I am sure to never burn myself again!...

4ONE Day-38-11JUL11

Where would we be without keys? I think we don't appreciate how important our keys are. They are something so personal, it is one of the barriers between you and having a safe place to rest at night. Usually we don't really understand how important these little shiny pieces of metal are until you are at the front door and you feel your heart sink as the pocket or bag where your keys usually lives is empty, there is not jingle when you shake your bag, you knock on the door and no one is home... so many times I have forgotten my keys and had to "break in" to my own home... really appreciate having my keys with me... plus they are also great for other things:

- opening letters
- opening bottles
- entertainment for small children... and some big ones
- self-defence?

hope you have your keys... don't leave home without them!

4ONE Day-37-10JUL11

Grateful for sales!... otherwise I would never be able to afford clothes.... and have to walk around in a cardboard box.

Nothing beats going shopping and getting a bargain...even IF it IS from cotton on... hey its cheap... and I am Asian... so to me that's a win.

Got to love sales... if only they were on everyday!... well decent ones anyway!

4ONE Day-36-09JUL11

Stayed home all day today... was a nice day out... but felt like I have a lot of things to do... ended up spending most of my day typing notes... (nerd yes..but it will most likely be short lived) anyway, whilst thinking of what to post today, I looked down and saw something that is really important, but I think we wouldn't appreciate it unless we lost it... learning about spinal cord injuries all week, has given me a new appreciation on how fragile the human body can be, if affected in the correct places. Something I am certainly grateful for are my hands. Without them life would be so much more difficult.
